This was proving to be an interesting and educational gathering. He'd been a bachelor for so long, that large family-style gatherings happened infrequently, usually only when he was seeing someone who had a family that he'd be taken out to meet. And this family, well, it was certainly an interesting one. He wasn't sure how many different worlds were represented, but there were a great many names that he didn't know at all, or knew only through water-cooler gossip and classified briefings.
He's not entirely sure how he ended up on the invite list, but he wasn't going to turn down an invitation from Captain America himself, even if he did intend to spend most of the evening observing instead of interacting. Which was what he was doing, drink in hand, but not being drunk.
